The Jama Mosque is located just opposite the Red Fort and one of the largest and most elegant mosques in Asia with its black and white striped domes and minarets. Take a rickshaw ride through the bustling, historical Chandni Chowk. This famous market of Old Delhi is a chaotic and amazing criss-crossing of lanes and by-lanes that seem to stock everything under the sun, from spices to jewellery and dress materials. Afterwards you will see Humayun’s Tomb, another magnificent Mughal building. This tomb was built by emperor Humayun’s wife for him in 1565-66. Set in a square enclosed garden, the finely proportioned structure in red sandstone and marble served later as a model for the Taj Mahal and many other Mughal tombs. The imposing victory tower Qutub Minar was built by Qutbuddin Aibak (1192-98) the founder of the Slave Dynasty. The tapering, fluted structure has five storeys, each marked by intricately carved projections and balconies. You will also get the opportunity to visit Raj Ghat, where the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, was cremated.
